Our WADI has been included in the officially recommended innovative solutions for clean drinking water by the Indian government and its water initiative "Jal Jeevan Mission".
The Jal Jeevan Mission aims to provide safe and sufficient drinking water to all households in rural India by 2024. The goal is to be made possible through individual water connections.
Measures such as recharge and reuse through greywater management, water conservation and rainwater harvesting are being introduced to ensure the sustainability of water sources.
The Jal Jeevan Mission included WADI in the recommended innovative technologies of the Innovation Portal of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. They state their vision as follows:
"Every rural household has drinking water supply in an adequate quantity of prescribed quality on a regular and long-term basis at affordable service delivery charges. The improved measures lead to improvement in the living standards of rural communities. "
Some of Jal Jeevan Mission's goals are to empower States to plan for their drinking water security, to provide functional tap connections to Schools, Anganwadi centres, GP buildings, Health centres, wellness centres and community buildings and to empower capacity building of the stakeholders and create awareness in the community on the significance of water for improvement in quality of life.
