HELIOZ is part of the WATERSPOUTT consortium, which is carrying out a technological development program to advance three applications based on Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS):
- Solar rainwater reactor
- Solar Jerrycan
- Solar-ceramic filtration
Together with Social scientists, public health experts, basic scientists, designers, and engineers from across Africa and Europe we are contributing to the development of affordable water treatment technologies for vulnerable communities in low income countries. The entire project is accompanied by a social science program to make sure that the technologies are adopted by the target communities in rural Africa, with the support of the local authorities and in an economically sustainable way. WATERSPOUTT is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
